Character Analysis of Sir Toby Belch in Shakespeareôs...
Comedy is by far the most influential factor in deciding whether or not a story is entertaining to its audience, due to its ability to create a more relaxed and pleasurable environment in the plot. From the playful awkwardness of Anne Shirley, to the witty banter of detectives Tommy and Tuppence, it is evident that comedic characters have always been appreciated and acknowledged in literature. Sir Toby Belch is but one of many amusing characters, and is by far one of the most humorous. While Shakespeareââ¬â¢s Twelfth Night is surrounded around an issue of romantic entanglement, Sir Tobyââ¬â¢s very presence is enough to lighten the mood and accentuate the comedic theme of the story through his creation of problems and unique personality.â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦This is one of the most amusing scenes in the play, followed by Belchââ¬â¢s famous attempt at getting Sir Andrew to ââ¬Å"accostâ⬠Oliviaââ¬â¢s chamber maid; Maria which resulted in utter confusion. In a ddition, Sir Toby also delivers several witty and comedic comments to divert the attention from a supposedly serious love affair between Malvolio and Olivia to the events taking place behind the ever famous box tree. ââ¬Å"Hereââ¬â¢s an overweening rougeâ⬠(II v 27) and ââ¬Å"O for a stone-bow to hit him in the eye!â⬠(II v 43) are samples of the remarks made by Sir Toby while he observes Malvolio in hiding. Although all these examples were mere results of a drunken night or craving for fun on Sir Tobyââ¬â¢s part, as an audience they were received as cheerful moments in the play that amended their attention from the surrounding melancholy. It also demonstrates his unique capability to amuse onlookers no matter how intense a situation is, and trumps his unappealing and carefree attitude. Furthermore, another of the countless reasons why Sir Toby Belch is the most enjoyable character in Twelfth Night is pertaining to his whimsical and absurd personality that is like none otherââ¬â¢s in the play. This intrigues the audience and compels them to enjoy every moment that he appears on stage, seeing as though a dull statement from Sir Toby has not yet been found in his dialogue. ââ¬Å"Approach, Sir Andrew. Hamlet s Madness Is Less Than Madness And More Than Feigned
Charmaine Bowden-Hancock Honors English III 3rd Period Dec. 17. 2015 Fact or Fake? ââ¬Å"Hamletââ¬â¢s madness is less than madness and more than feignedâ⬠. What is madness? Mad is a word with such uncertainty that it can be stretched to mean an abundance of things more than just pure psychological instability: a weariness of life; a suicidal impulse; a plotting charisma. In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, a wild disagreement has been consequent for a series of years in the case of the madness of Hamlet, the play s central narrative, was justifiable or feigned. As in any decision, one must be given both sides of the controversy before making an impartial conclusion. The case of Hamlet s madness is no exclusion. It is appropriate to say that Hamlet may have remained sensible throughout the performance, especially in consideration of his rag flashes of what seems to be psychological discipline and stability. However, Hamlet is perceived as disoriented by overwhelming burst of hysteria after acquiring knowledge of his fatherââ¬â¢s death, news of Ger trudeââ¬â¢s quick remarriage, and Claudius becoming the new King. In the butt end it is up to the scholar to determine for him or herself the psychological nature of Hamletââ¬â¢s madness, as it may have been the motive of William Shakespeare, taking into review how open-ended this subject continued throughout the play. With Hamletââ¬â¢s return to Denmark he is made aware of his fatherââ¬â¢s death, Old King Hamlet. His reaction to his fatherââ¬â¢s death isShow MoreRelatedHamlet s Madness And Insanity1481 Words à |à 6 PagesMuch has been has been discussed of Hamletââ¬â¢s madness and insanity. Point of Care Devices Troponin
Question: Discuss about thePoint of Care Devicesfor Troponin. Answer: Recommendation for Best Device for Troponin The troponin is type of protein find in cardiac muscle and it is regarded as a marker for cardiac injury or cardiac arrest. The test measure the level Of troponin T or troponin I in the blood to detect the level of damage to the heart muscle due to a heart attack[i]. The most basic criteria for the test are sample of blood and turnaround time measurement should be 1 hour. Among the five types of POCT device for troponin, Triage troponin I/Alere can be the most effective device for the test due to its cost-effectiveness and rapid testing. Alere immunoassay provides the diagnostic answer for a range of test as well as troponin I. Another advantage of this device is that its sensitivity value is high. The chromtagrphic technique used for the test gives the most effective treatment[ii]. Specimen collection is also easy which can be done by heparinised whole blood. A few precautions required for the device is that it should be protected against any microbiological hazard throughout the pr ocedure. Proper disposal of specimen is also essential. Humidity and temperature can also affect results, so that factor should also be kept in mind. Testing should be done immediately after specimen collection. The device has been compared other standard testing for troponin and the overall accuracy is almost 99%[iii]. Recommendation for Best Device for Creatinine Creatinine is a waste product in the body formed due to creatinine breakdown. The test is done to determine the level of creatinine breakdown and detect the functioning of the kidney. Normally creatinine is excreted out of the body by kidney and detection of high level of creatinine means there is defect in the function of the kidney[iv]. A number of device is available for the detection of the test. The effectiveness of device depends on its level of accuracy and the time taken to do the test. Cost effectiveness is also essential so that people get this test done on time. Among the devices mentioned in comparative study of POCT devices, ABL 800 Flex gives the result in far less time than other devices and the time is far shorter than other conventional testing models[v]. The appliances can be easily used on table top in clinical setting. The enzymatic method utilized for the test is effective as it reduces inaccuracies that are normally found in picric method. Thus this effective mo del will promote early detection and management of chronic renal failure. In a study, ABL 800 FLEX was compared with other assays in patients and it was found that that the device showed best overall concordance with plasma creatinine. The other device like Nova Stat sensor has less concordance. Hence, this device can be more reliable and applicable for detection of chronic kidney disease. In a questionnaire for patients experience with the device, the point four was received for each question on Likert scale[vi]. Reference [i] Pracon R, Kruk M, Jakubczak B, Demkow M, Bilinska ZT. Argumentative Essay-Parents Involvement free essay sample
Statistics show that children with both a motherly and fatherly influence are more successful. Believe it or not drugs are out there and will remain. Teenagers do have access to drugs whether it is through their peers or family members. Studies show that over seventy percent of teenagers have been exposed to alcohol over the past year. Based on the society of the world today is very common that parents expose drugs to their children and in some cases participate in illegal drug activities with them. As children are growing up and they witness their parents dealing drugs, taking drugs, and drinking. All of this is a negative impact on the children and it is very harmful. A positive impact from parents in a childââ¬â¢s younger days to their transition to adulthood is very important in the way the child performs. Caring for a crying baby after birth is just as important as disciplining a child as a teenager. We will write a custom essay sample on Argumentative Essay-Parents Involvement or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Studies show that a child that still lives with both parents at the age of fourteen is more likely to graduate college and possibly further their education than a child that comes from a home with a single parent or possibly no parent. As a child starts school a good parent should be very heavily involved in their childââ¬â¢s school activities and should strive to make sure they are successful. When a child is in elementary school attending field trips and having lunch dates with a parent are just a few of the ways parents can begin to get involved. The most popular activity that children are involved in outside of school is participating in a youth sport. There are several parents who volunteer by coaching and then there are parents who just sit in the bleachers and complain about everything. However there are also parents who never even show up to watch their child play ball. As many people have noticed sometimes it isnââ¬â¢t the best idea for a parent to coach their own child. In some cases it is negative and in some cases it is positive. Some parents show favoritism to their own child and give them special privileges but on the other hand there are parents who discipline their child more than others and push them to be as successful as possible. When there is a parent that is in the bleachers complaining about everything and other parents or players hear that then in some cases it may cause controversy. As a child turns into a teenager and becomes more independent it is even more important that a parent is very involved in their life. As a parent, they should be aware of things that could easily attract their teenagers. If a parent is involved and guides their child in the right path then it will be less likely for them to stray off the path and get involved into something that they shouldnââ¬â¢t. Parents should plan fun activities for their children regardless of their age and it should be something that sparks their interest and that they would enjoy doing. When teenagers become adults and begin to start a family of their own then parental guidance does not go away. Parents will know exactly what tricks and things to teach that way that their children can properly care for their own. They can be there just for advice or even as a babysitter. Parental guidance is very vital in todayââ¬â¢s society and starts even before birth and never ends.

In the introduction to The Four Loves, C.S. Lewis introduces the idea of love into two distinct sections of ââ¬Ëneed-loveââ¬â¢ and ââ¬Ëgift-loveââ¬â¢. Human love can be defined as love just as long as it resembles the Love which is God. Lewis states, ââ¬Å"I still think that if all we mean by our love is a craving to be loved, we are in a very deplorable state.â⬠(p. 2). To love is to do so unconditionally without the intention of receiving the same emotion back in return. Gift-love is a supernatural emotion that is given freely. Lewis gave an example of ââ¬Ëgift-loveââ¬â¢ as being, ââ¬Å"...that love which moves a man to work and plan and save for the future well-being of his family which he will die without sharing or seeing...â⬠(p. 1). Need-love is based on the fact that in reality people do need one another and it is not in manââ¬â¢s best interest to be alone. Lewis explains, ââ¬Å"We need others physically, emotionally, intellectually; we need them if we are to know anything, even ourselves.â⬠(p. 2) Need-love however should not be confused with selfishness because a frightened child who runs to the arms of his mother for comfort is not committing a selfish act.
